SPRING has arrived!! The birds chirping, the sun returning, my mood switching (I suffer from seasonal depression, haha). It's all going to be okay! I know it began March 25th, but,, it wasn't until now that all my watches and clocks in the house are set to the right time!
The color of spring is ofcourse pastel, you see it everywhere you turn. In clothes, shoes, accessories, nailpolish, make-up!! This spring the color mint green is central. I always loved the pastel colors, it makes the world so girly and fun! It's one thing to love, but it's a WHOLE other to figure out how to make it work for yourself. Thus, the color mint green... i don't think i can rock that, BUT I've never tried it.. so for me it's a first!
If you're like me and some colors doesn't suit your skintone or preference but still want to go with the trend, this spring is now going to be AMAZING, because you can COLORBLOCK your way in to the pastels!
You can dye your bags, shoes on your own or just buy those items, solids or already colorblocked items.
For those who don't know how to colorblock, here are the basics!
- Analogous colors: any three colors lined up on the color wheel (e.g. violet, violet-red & red)
- Complementary colors: any colors directly across from each other (e.g. blue & orange)
- Pair colors that form 90 degree angles with each other (e.g. yellow & red -orange)
- Pair colors that form an X (e.g. blue, orange, violet-red & yellow etc.)
- Pair colors that form a T (e.g. yellow, blue-green & red-orange)
- Color-families You can substitute pink (tint) with red and still be able to pull off the combos based on the color wheel.
Colorblocking was in the summer of 2011 a hit with bright, bold colors. I love how you can just go crazy on the color-wheel. I will rock that again this summer with pinks, blues and greens!
